Silversea Resumes Ultra-Luxury Cruising With Two New Ships

Silversea Cruises, the world’s first ultra-luxury yacht line, announced today that it has resumed its ultra-luxury cruise service, with the addition of two new vessels. The new ships will join three previously-launched ships in the Silversea fleet, which are now operating seven-night transatlantic and seven-night Mediterranean cruises to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
Luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises celebrates its return to global operations today with the maiden voyage of its new flagship Silver Moon from Athens, Greece. Silversea’s other brand new ship, the Silver Origin, a 100-passenger, balcony-only expedition ship built specifically to sail to the Galapagos Islands, will also launch tomorrow, the 19th. June, from San Cristobal for its maiden voyage. The line’s first ship will sail on a series of new routes around the equatorial archipelago. I look forward to personally welcoming our guests aboard the Silver Moon in Greece. The recently launched flagship Silver Moon will make 10-day voyages around the Greek islands and Cyprus. This 596-passenger ship is one of the most spacious in Silversea’s fleet, but retains the intimacy characteristic of the company’s smaller ships. Guests can enjoy luxurious ocean-view suites, gourmet cuisine and personalized service with a near 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio.
Silver Origin was designed specifically with the unique and fragile biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands in mind and is one of the most energy efficient units in its class. The ship will make ultra-luxurious seven-day expedition voyages around the archipelago throughout the year. The ship has 100 balcony suites, the highest number of expert guides per guest in the Galapagos (1:10) and the highest number of Zodiacs per guest (1:12.5) in the region.
