Royal Caribbean Swiftly Deals With Two Positive Guests on Adventure of the Seas
Two guests, described as “positive” by Royal Caribbean (RTBIOTT) staff, were questioned and dismissed after allegedly making lewd and offensive comments to staff members on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s “Adventure of the Seas”, leaving the ship in Galveston, Texas (GALVEST). The crew on the ship have been informed of the circumstances of the incident and are reviewing the actions of the two guests.
The Adventure of the Seas sets sail tomorrow morning. It’s the first time the cruise line has sent out two ships at the same time, and passengers are apprehensive about the new ship’s potential for snafus. “It’s too soon. They haven’t even finished the dry dock,” says Pamela Poulin, a 63-year-old who has cruised on the Disney Magic and the Norwegian Epic. “I’m not sure I’d be interested if they had a fourth ship coming soon. There’s already so many ships.”
On May 2, a passenger was found unresponsive in his cabin on Royal Caribbean ship , “Adventure of the Seas”, . While the deceased (and unidentified) passenger’s final moments were not captured on video, a passenger captured a series of video clips that were later shown to Radar’s Steve Kelley.
Two guests on Adventure of the Seas were found to have COVID and Royal Caribbean immediately responded with protocols to ensure the protection of guests and crew. Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship is the first in the fleet to resume operations in North America.
Guests of Adventure Seas Positive test
On the cruise ship Adventure of the Seas, two guests under the age of 16 tested positive for COVID. The cases were discovered during a routine inspection before the flight was completed.
One guest is asymptomatic and the other currently has mild symptoms. They were quickly quarantined. As young passengers, they traveled with other guests who tested negative.
It is also useful to know if the other members of the group have been vaccinated. According to protocols, all persons who came into contact with it were tested and the results were negative. They have also been vaccinated.
The details were announced by Royal Caribbean president and CEO Michael Bailey:
Two children traveling on the cruise ship Adventure of the Seas were found to have COVID today after undergoing routine tests required before they could return home. The two guests, who were under 16 and had not been vaccinated, were immediately quarantined. One guest is asymptomatic and the other has mild symptoms.
Those who are close are vaccinated and negative. All close contacts were quickly identified and verified. They have all been vaccinated and found negative.
The guests and their tour group disembarked today in Freeport, Bahamas and are on their way back to Florida.
Ninety-two percent of our Adventure guests are fully vaccinated and the remaining 8% are under the age of 16. Our team is 100% vaccinated.
The Adventure of the Seas arrived in Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama on Thursday morning and the two guests disembarked with their fellow passengers. The guests go home to Florida. The ship will arrive at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay private island Friday morning.
We will see more of this as more and more cruise ships resume operations. This shows that cruises can be operated safely and that the industry is now able to deal with IRVOC. Gone are the days of the Diamond Princess, now that cruise lines know how to do it.
The Adventure of the Seas departs from Nassau, Bahamas, and has 92% fully vaccinated passengers on board, while 8% of guests are not vaccinated because they are under 16. The cruise line has ensured that all crew members are fully vaccinated and this applies to all Royal Caribbean Resume cruise ships.
The news comes as Celebrity Millennium has had to deal with the deaths of two guests on its first flight out of St. Louis. St. Maarten on the 5th. June 2023 tested positive. This ship was the first cruise ship to resume operations in North America, not just the first in the fleet. Also on this ship the situation was quickly resolved and the cruise continued.
Two days ago, the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Adventure of the Seas sailed out of New Jersey with a different member of the cruise ship’s crew. The man, who was on a diet, has been described as both pleasant and polite by passengers, but apparently the captain of the ship had a different opinion..
