Emio Greco | PC in Hell^9

Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten (ICKamsterdam)

After exploring dance from the vantage point of other arts disciplines, Hell is Emio Greco | PCí³ take on dance as their art form absolute. Inspired by Dante's Inferno and Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, in Hell Greco and Pieter C. Scholten contemplate "hell on earth," offering a profound perspective on the current global situation. In phenomenal unison work, performed with breathtaking committment (a hallmark of Emio Greco | PC), the movements push the dancers' bodies to extremes, building to a fever pitch that is as emotionally gripping and terrifying as it is brilliant.

Hell premiered at the Festival de Montpellier in June, 2006.

The 2006-2007 U.S. Tour of Hell was presented by Philadelphia Live Arts Festival (Philadelphia, PA); Pittsburgh Dance Council (Pittsburgh, PA); UC Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA); UC San Diego (San Diego, CA); Stanford Lively Arts (Stanford, CA); Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN); and Miami Light Project (Miami, FL).
